A Delay in the Road

There has been a delay in the road! Is it roadworks? Diversions? Or random immigrants running across the M25?

Nope.

Its just me! Life is busy. Good but busy and I must admit, writng this has been at the back of my mind. Sorry. I could sit here and say this will change, that I will write everyday. but we also know that there is a strong chance this could happen again. After all I am planning my wedding!

My wedding! Love planning it but i am at the stage of starting to get stressed. Plus side I have my dress! If all else fails, at least I will look amazing.

But lets not talk wedding stress, after the invite printing drama I had this evening, I need a wedding time out for the evening.

So lets talk Denmark! this time next week, we (fingers crossed with recent events) will be on a ferry heading to France to drive to the homeland, Denmark! 2 weeks on Nordik land with the family. Child christmas eve excitment is currently what I am feeling right now! Its been so long that I am actually craving time in Denmark. Its hard to explain. I cant wait!

I could carry on typing but I must admit, I am shattered! So my pj’s are on and TV is on standby to show me some rubbish. I’m so tired, I struggling to type.

So, sorry for the poor spelling, the little words and other errors. Im off to veg!

Yellow Van

All roads need to start somewhere and ours has started here. Right here in this quaint little town on the edge of Surrey. It is your typical Surrey town, filled with charity shops and estate agents, and everyone is connected to each other in one way or another. As much as I love Farnham and will always have a place it my heart, it can be fucking boring at times.

I feel this is the right time to explain how we have gotten to this point and why. If we roll back time, 30 years and 2 months ago, I arrived! Wahoo! Born in the city of Aarhus, Denmark. The sprog of 2 architects born with duel nationality, half English half Danish (my father being English and my mother the Dane!).
At the ripe old age of 1, mum, dad and I hoped over the sea from Aarhus to Oslo in Norway. Not too sure why, I believe it was for work, not sure. I was too busy pooing in my nappy and playing with my toys to know why we moved, but we did. I have very few memories of Norway. I remember sledging and playing in kindergarten but that’s about it. Since we left, I’ve never been back. Not for any particular reason, I’ve just never been back. I find it strange that I lived in a country and to this day I don’t really remember it. My strongest memory is scrapping snow off a play house at kindergarten and enjoying it so much that I put the snow back on and did it again!
At the age of 3 we moved to the UK and settled down in Surrey.
Over the next 20+ years the standard things happen, I grew, I rebelled, I grew some more and we now find ourselves here. I am now a ‘grown up’ living the ‘adult life’ I am engaged to a boy! Not just any boy! Another ‘grown up’ who is my best friend and rock. Love him. My mum moved back to Denmark in 2013 and my dad lives with my step mum in beautiful Hampshire. A lot happened over the 20+ years, some good some bad but that is for another day and time with wine!
So, we are here. In Farnham, on the road to Denmark and whatever lies our way. Once married (next year!) the plan is to relocate and live in Denmark. To give it a go and see what happens. But before we get to that point in life we have lots of mini adventures ahead of us to enjoy.
We visit Denmark a lot, I’m there every few months and very fortunate to have a great family there. The next trip is planned for July and I can’t wait. Once or twice a year we road trip it and drive there with the dog. I love our road trips, driving through different country’s and seeing different things. Normally we drive our little hatchback which we will sleep in at some random service station in Germany or somewhere. The plan is to take it further and ‘pimp’ up a van to use as a camper! And this plan has taken one little step ahead and we soon could be the owners of a van. A yellow van!

Hello world!

So, this is it. I’m 30. Work full time. Planning our wedding. I’m a dyslexic who is planning to start my TEFL and I’ve decided to write a blog. Nope, I don’t know why either!

Why the road? And why Denmark? Easy really, the road is life and Denmark is where we hope to end up in the future.

So this blog is my story, a modern day diary that floats around in cyberspace for whoever to find and read. I really don’t know why I am doing this but I do know that I want to so for me that is good enough.

Typically, I now have a mental blank!
